Memorial Day 2016

Today and everyday, from those of us who don’t say it enough…Thank You!

Letter to Fred Meyer on non-GMO Labeling

For those of you who were wondering what the letter to Fred Meyer that a few of us farmers sent, here it is…

I want to show here that we really want our local grocers to be a part of the conversation when it comes to food and truth in advertising. I hope that we hear from Fred Meyer at some point to hear what their thoughts are on this important role they have to play.

For a little more background on this issue please read my post “What crops are GMO’s?” And another update from Oregon Farm Bureau, “Farmers take on Fred Meyer for Misleading GMO Advertising.”

Photo Friday, Random Farm Moments

Good morning! Here is a quick crop update, a rainy day kid activity and a beautiful sunrise to start your Friday!
The cabbage for seed is coming along nicely. Especially considering how wet this winter has been as we head into spring.   Hoping to get some fertilizer on today, even through a few spots that look like the photo above…wish us luck!

So what do we do with a busy kid like Hoot when it’s raining. Well we jump in a lot of puddles and play in a lot of mud, or…we jump in a tractor and take a ride!

Which leads us to today, a beautiful start to a day of sunshine and lots of work ahead. Good morning and happy Friday folks!
