The PowerPoint slide doesn’t say, “just go out and spray chemicals to take care of the problem!”
I saw this slide during a presentation from Oregon State University at this years Seed Growers League and just thought it was so interesting because I get so many questions about why we spray “so much”.
So here is a bit of reality about what we are taught, what tools we use, and how yes, we continue to strive to be true stewards of the land.

For work this summer I was traveling around to a lot of agAcademy events in the Midwest and South. It was great to see farmers and agronomists sharing in-depth management practices. No one recommended “just spraying.” Thanks for sharing!

Yeah I think it’s something that many people who haven’t been “in the field” don’t realize. Glad you got to have that experience!
